What Hopcheck Is
Hopcheck is a redirect inspection tool. You paste a URL, and it follows every redirect one hop at a time, showing the intermediate URLs, status codes, and what changes along the way. It is designed to leave no trace of the URLs you check.
Data Collection
Hopcheck does not create accounts, store profiles, use cookies for tracking, or maintain a database of checked URLs.
- The URL you submit is used only to perform the redirect check. It is not logged, stored, or retained after the response is sent.
- The service does not set any cookies, tracking pixels, or local storage identifiers.
- The service does not collect or transmit your IP address for any purpose beyond the network-level handling required to deliver the response.
- The service does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
URL Inspection Requests
When you submit a URL for inspection, the service fetches that URL server-side (following redirects manually) and returns the chain structure to your browser. The submitted URL and the resulting chain exist only in the server's memory for the duration of the request and are discarded immediately after the response is sent.
No Accounts
There are no user accounts on Hopcheck. There is no login, no registration, no session, and no way to associate a request with a returning visitor. Every visit is anonymous.
Third-Party Services
Hopcheck is hosted on Cloudflare's global edge network. Cloudflare's standard network logs (IP addresses, request timing, TLS details) are subject to Cloudflare's own privacy policy and data retention practices. Hopcheck does not configure any additional logging or data collection beyond Cloudflare's default operations.
No Compliance Claims
This service does not claim compliance with GDPR, CCPA, or any other data protection regime. It is the operator's responsibility to assess and achieve compliance before claiming any standard.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
